At Lotus Yoga Studio we embrace the eight limbs of yoga in everything we do; valuing honesty, compassion, integrity, and standing up for our beliefs. We also deeply value silliness, fun, and not taking life too seriously. Lotus Yoga values giving back and sharing knowledge. We embody these values by:
Giving back to the community through
Free Yoga Project
Boys and Girls Club, YMCA and local public schools
Re-Yoga donation program: donates gently used yoga mats, props and clothing to communities we teach in that don’t have the means to purchase what is needed for yoga classes
Making eco-friendly studio choices:
Using Jade Yoga products which plants a tree for all mats, straps and blocks purchased and uses sustainable and renewable materials
Encouraging the use of refillable water bottles to reduce waste
Recycling and repurposing materials -including the large Lotus Yoga Studio sign!
Using eco-friendly products in the studio
Welcoming all genders, religions, races and body types. We embrace the individual and encourage self-expression
Inspiring personal growth by emphasizing mindfulness, self-reflection and self-acceptance
Our motto is simple: Do Yoga. Be Happy.
Lotus Yoga Studio is here because of the community that has grown out of Lauren’s eight years of teaching. Many wonderful students, family and friends came together to create a beautiful studio space for all of us to share by contributing art, support, skills and lots and lots of love, for which Lauren is deeply grateful. Lotus Yoga Studio is an expansion of the work Lauren has been doing as a yoga teacher, therapist and healer, and it is an extension of her own heart.
Lauren Farenga, owner of Lotus Yoga Studio, began practicing yoga at age fourteen to help heal from trauma and insomnia following a sexual assault. She continued to turn to yoga throughout her life to cope with grief, trauma and to manage the symptoms of Crohn’s disease. Yoga has healed her and brought her happiness and purpose. Lauren teaches because she believes in the power of yoga and is passionate about sharing it with others. Lauren has now been teaching yoga for eight years and continues her mission to make yoga accessible to everyone so all people can enjoy it’s healing benefits.
Lauren is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in MA and worked in mental health for ten years prior to opening Lotus Yoga Studio. Through her work as a social worker and yoga teacher, Lauren had developed Chakra Flow Yoga. A powerful combination of traditional therapeutic techniques and ancient yoga techniques which leads to profound healing and personal growth. Chakra Flow is taught in classes and privately as therapeutic yoga, and is effective because of it’s balanced approach to healing in the mind, body and heart.
Do Yoga. Be Happy.
